Crochet is cool: Dallas Morning News Piece with a Hook

There's a very social group of craftspeople who are anything but crochety in Crochet Texas! They meet at the Jo-Ann fabric and craft store at Forest Lane and Preston Road in Dallas for fellowship, education and charity. Each month they contribute handmade items for a good cause.

Member and crochet blogger Jerry Rigdon http://sdosas.blogspot.com/ has won blue ribbons at the State Fair in both pattern crochet and free-form crochet – and he's on a long-term quest to create the perfectly unbulky crocheted sock. Mr. Rigdon's a rare breed: the male crochet buff. He's in good company – famous crocheting men include football player Rosey Grier, President James Buchanan and inventor George Washington Carver.
